t's always a pleasure and privilege to join with
fellow Christians, and Sunday 18th July gave us the opportunity to do just
that. The Brigade provided an afternoon programme for the local
Central Baptist Church in Chelmsford. The group meets once a month,
for worship and fellowship, and on this occasion we joined them, first
for worship and then for tea. The pictures above show both parts of
the afternoon.

On the 8th June, the brigade was once more pleased
to travel to the historic town of Dunmow, where in spite of the very warm
weather, around 120 members of the Dunmow flitch friendship Club were
entertained, and we hope blessed by the singing of the the Songsters.
Shown left is Hayley Stubbs singing Somebody's
praying accompanied by the Brigade, and right is a view of those
listening.

On the Tuesday following our visit to Milton Keynes,
(see below) we had one of our regular "Sing and Study" evenings. This
entails working on a song, and then studying together the biblical
background to it in small groups, before coming back together to sing the
song through again. This never fails to give us a deeper
understanding of the music, as well as giving us the opportunity to study
God's Word together. The song on this occasion was Len Ballantine's,
based on Paul's Letter to the Ephesians 3 17-19
Pictured above are two of the groups and left, songster sergeant
Sue Jones, summing up our studies.

On Saturday 20th March the brigade enjoyed a great
evening with Birmingham Citadel Band. The festival, at the Milton
Keynes Church of Christ the Cornerstone, was in aid of a Rotary charity to
help orphaned children in West Africa, and raised £1000. Band items
included The Last Amen, and Jubilee, and items from the songsters included
Jesus Victorious, and a John Rutter arrangement of When the Saints, which
was very popular with the audience.
Pictured far left are some of the band, and left the songsters in
rehearsal.
